LINCOLN COUNTY - The Cooperative Extension’s Senior Citizens Council has planned an entertaining and educational program for Lincoln County Senior Citizens for Valentine’s Day.

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Law enforcement officers hope a drug round-up of more than three dozen people will curtail drug use and other crimes in Bessemer City and western Gaston County.

Altogether, 38 people from Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties were targeted during the drug sting.  As of Friday afternoon, 31 people had been arrested. 

The drug round-up commenced Thursday at 7 a.m. with officers knocking on the doors of the suspects.  Officials plan to continue searching for the remaining seven people until all of the suspects are behind bars.

The arrestees were wanted on various drug offenses and Gaston County Police say they were mostly focusing on the sellers. 

A majority of the people arrested are facing cocaine offenses.
