Police find missing teen during traffic stop in Rock Hill

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) - A missing Lincoln County teenager who was reported missing Friday was found with a Gaston County man during a traffic stop in Rock Hill this weekend.

The 15-year-old was last seen Friday afternoon walking away from the mobile home park where she lives in Cherryville.

Investigators found the teen during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon in Rock Hill.

According the Rock Hill Police Department, an officer noticed Larry Alvis Crowder, 40, making a lane change without using his turn signal on Dave Lyle Boulevard.

Crowder was in a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado vehicle and the missing teenager was inside his vehicle.

Crowder was stopped on the ramp to I-77 heading southbound from Dave Lyle Boulevard.

Suspects in Granite Falls bank robbery stole getaway car in Lincolnton, police say

GRANITE FALLS, NC (WBTV) - Police say the man who robbed a bank in Granite Falls Thursday afternoon along with an accomplice, got into a vehicle that was stolen from a business in Lincolnton.

The robbery happened around 5 p.m. at Parkway Bank located on Falls Avenue.

"The suspect showed the teller a handgun," said Granite Falls Police Chief Ritch Bolick.  "The teller followed the suspect's instructions and the suspect left the bank without anyone being hurt."

In a tip called in to the Granite Falls Police Department, the suspect vehicle was observed traveling south on U.S. 321 just inside Hickory at approximately 5:15 p.m.  The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly collided with another vehicle, police said.

Digital photography class offered on Feb. 12

LINCOLN COUNTY - Local photographer Jon J. Arrowood will lead a photography class at the Lincoln Cultural Center on February 12.

The class - Editing and Special Effect for Digital Photograpy - will help equip you with the basic techniques and confidence to accomplish the most common photo editing tasks.

Seniors to show off clay art in February

LINCOLN COUNTY - The Arts Council of Lincoln County will roll out their “2011 Senior Showcase” on February 7. 

The council has partnered with Lincoln County Senior Services to give seniors a chance to show off their artistic ability by working with clay art.

The works will be exhibited at the Lincoln Cultural Center thru February 25 and an opening reception will be held at the center on February 8.  For more information, click here.
